You wanna know how life works? A'ight, let's do this.
You come home and find everything different.
You think you've been wronged, only to realize you're supplanting gratitude with complaint unreasonably.
You fall so in love it's consuming.
You fall out of love; it's consuming.
You fall back in love. It's good.
You scold a child for doing something you do more often than she does.
You apologize.
You fall in love some more.
You get mad. You forgive.
Others get mad. You still forgive.
You repent. A lot.
You look in the mirror sometimes and think, wow, I look good!
You stress over finding a job until you find one.
You celebrate the same things that make you crazy a little further down the road.
You look in the mirror sometimes and think, yikes, I need to do something different.
You don't fall in or out of love anymore, but you notice waves of love moving up and down.
You make love your focus, and it goes up.
You call a friend.
You make work your focus, and it goes up.
You change a diaper.
You make death your focus, and everything goes up. Not in flames, per se. Just up.
You make life your focus, and it's confusing.
You get mad. You forgive.
Others get mad. You still forgive.
You repent. A lot.
You cry.
You smile.
You cry. (A different cry.)
Repeat.
Repeat some more.
Until...
You come home and find everything different.
You know nothing is wrong. Gratitude supplants complaint, forever.
You fall so in love it's consuming.
In love with life.
p.s. Like I know anything about how life works.... ;)
